FAQ

Down, like other materials, insulates by creating air gaps between two temperature zones. Down that insulates well will be able to take up a lot of space to create gaps, but also must provide enough density of these spaces to create a well insulated environment.

The loft factor, or the "fill power" tells you how much the down will expand, thus creating larger air gaps. Quality down insulators will use above 500 loft down. After testing with thousands of customers, we've settled on a premium loft factor of 650. This is because the feeling of a soft rebound effect from the down is associated with luxury products, and we wanted to ensure we deliver the best products out there.

Durability is highly impacted by oil content in the feathers - the more oil the feathers have, the longer they are likely to last without disintegrating. However, excess oil can also cause a foul smell - there is a balance between 0.2% and 0.7% as a sweet spot, which we maintain for your long term comfort.

To ensure your feathers last as long as possible, ensure you fluff the duvet often and dry up any liquid spills as soon as you can.

We pride ourselves on hand picking the high fill-power white goose down in your duvet to ensure you receive a top of the line comforter.

We use a specialized purity washing process to ensure that the fatty oil content of the down is within the range needed to avoid bad smells, but still ensure longevity.

This is because the natural oils in down increase the durability, but can sometimes leave a foul odour if it isn't treated properly.

If you're a hot sleeper or if the duvet is for warmer temperatures, choose the "Summer" comforter.

While our "Signature" weight is good for 80% of people, if you need a good option for full 4-season weather, choose our "All Season" weight.

For those that crave the best for for ultimate warmth, go with our extremely plush, luxury Polar comforter.

Feathers have a hard quill shaft, while down is the soft undercoat of the bird. Down is the best insulator per ounce, outperforming both natural and synthetic fills.

Feather duvets can sometimes have a "crinkly" sound to them, and pound for pound, cannot achieve the same warmth as down duvets.

Geese are larger than ducks, resulting in denser clusters of soft filaments. Goose down is longer, thicker, and more durable, especially from mature birds, offering a premium product in terms of both insulation performance as well as longevity.
